Sign up for the challenge of creating poems over a weekend of writing,
studying and talking poetry in a safe environment in the heart of East
Sussex, amongst the rolling hills of the English countryside. (And the
pubs are only a step away!)

Here, in a lovely fifteenth-century cottage, you will be able to share
ideas and take creative risks. Participants write a poem (no matter how
long or short!), and bring along some they have already written, for a
discussion in afternoon sessions with the experienced teachers in the group.

Spring at The Wheelwrights

These tutors contribute their own aesthetic concerns, grounded in the
history, craft and publishing of poetry to these workshop sessions, with
a mix of exercises and critiques.

Optional morning sessions allow you to share your experience and
knowledge. Or you may want to discuss your work informally with
participants on walks in the garden, and surrounding fields and
footpaths, or reflect and think on your own.

In the evening the poets will bring their range and style of voices to a
poetry reading, sometimes with a guest poet, to make this a
highlight of the weekend.

Lively explanations of the art of poetry are guaranteed both at the
structured sessions, and at meals and impromptu discussions in a
common area.
